Qube’s Bio-SIP systems are engineered to provide superior insulating properties using fully sustainable materials, including recycled plastic and natural fibres. The PET foam core which sits inside our Bio-SIP’s is derived from 100% recycled plastic. During manufacture tiny closed-cell air pockets are formed within the material. The result of which contributes toward the excellent insulating properties of our Bio-SIP systems. The recycled plastic core is sandwiched between two exterior boards made from natural, organic materials such as flax or hemp fibres. The fibrous material is firstly mixed with a bio resin to form a strong and watertight exterior, whilst contributing very little weight to the overall product.
Bio-SIP systems provide a light weight, high performance alternative to traditional SIP’s on the current market. When used in the construction of our garden studios, Bio-SIP systems offer unmatched thermal stability, and can help create buildings which conform to Passivhaus standard, an important accreditation to consider in our heading towards a net-zero future.
Our Bio-SIP’s are already at production stage, and have been used in the construction of multiple garden buildings so far. We have discovered along the way that Bio-SIP’s offer excellent sound proofing qualities in addition to their superior thermal performance, making our range of garden buildings suitable for a wide range of uses, both for private and commercial use.
It will be at ExCel’s Futurebuild show, where Qube will be pitching for a spot on the main stage in order to capture the interest and investment of those keen to disrupt the current construction market, with inspiring ideas and innovative solutions.
